Tennant Obit Pic

Lovingly known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as, “Grams,” and “Dotti T,” Dortha Jane Tennant has gone to be with the Lord in February 2023. During the 1970s “Dotti,” was familiar to certain audiences in Cleveland as a Country Western Singer. She was a featured act at one of the old Howard Johnson’s Lounges and also played at other venues which featured local C&W artists in the Cleveland area. One year she was Cleveland Chapter Queen of the Ohio Country and Western Music Association and competed in Columbus for the Title. Once she sang at the Ohio State Fair and reminisced fondly for years about her one-time performance at the Wooly Bear Festival. However, her talent was best known and appreciated by her family because she led and helped lead sing-a-longs, while accompanying herself on her guitar. Grams brought her guitar to all family gatherings, big and small, for many, many years, and later brought her Karaoke microphones so she could encourage her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to join in the family tradition she had learned from her beloved parents, Virgil and Ida Tennant. She is survived by:Her children: Robin Neff of Rock Creek, David Teller of Calcutta, and Susan Teller of Florida. Her grandchildren: Abigail Larson of Huntsburg, Sarah Neff of Columbus, Michael Jasinski and Joanna Jasinski of Valdosta, Georgia. Her great-grandchildren: Angelina, Brielle, Haley Jones and her fiancee Benjamin Lowmaster, and Nova. Her siblings: Ronald Tennant of Florida, Judy Tennant of West Virginia, Daniel Tennant of West Virginia, and Debbie Croston of West Virginia.

A Celebration of Life for Dortha Jane Tennant will take place at a later time.
