Jacky Wayne Gilbert

Jacky Wayne Gilbert, age 65, sadly passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the UH Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, Ohio after a brief battle with cancer. Jack was born on June 8, 1957, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, and grew up in Painesville Township, Ohio.

Jack was a 1975 graduate from Riverside High School and recently worked at Mayfield Country Club as an accountant. He is preceded in death by his father Paul Dwayne Gilbert and mother Mildred Rose (Gibson) Eckenrode.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kathleen Gilbert, his son Matthew Gilbert, daughter Amanda Massey (Douglas), sister Sonja Square, brother Ricky Gilbert (Lori), and grandchildren Owen Massey and Ethan Massey.

Jack is survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.

There will be a celebration of life and burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 N. Park Place, Painesville, Ohio in Jack’s memory.

    Jack was one of the nicest customers I’ve done work for!! I am so sorry and sad to hear of Jacks passing.

    Sorry for your loss.
    Jack was a great guy and a great neighbor in Fairport. I enjoyed playing golf couple times a year with him, neither one of us were very good but we enjoyed just hanging out smoking cigars and having a couple beers. Once again I’m sorry for your loss.
