Joyce M. Young

Joyce Young
Joyce M. Young, 85, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, May 19, 2022, in Beachwood, Ohio.
A native of Pennsylvania and an enterprise , female executive, Joyce was the President and Owner of Young Galvanizing in Pulaski, PA for over a decade.
She loved to travel and saw every state in the USA and many countries across the globe. Her life changed after she visited Israel and prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. Joyce gave all of herself and dedicated her life to her family and friends and to those less fortunate or in need. She spent her time with people, visiting, sharing a meal, remembering a birthday or a special event. She called, she wrote, and she came through the years and over the miles. We cannot think of better words to be said about a human being.
She loved the opera, the museum , the ballet, and all things New York. She could navigate the streets like a tour guide!
Joyce’s heart was in Arizona where her close friends became and remain family. We will miss her dearly. We feel her presence and peace all around.
Preceded in death by her parents Mike and Hazel Flak; beloved husband Jack; stepson Jason; brothers DeWayne and Gordon; brother-in-law Tito. She is survived by her stepdaughters Neal and Dana; beloved sister Carole; her sisters-in-law Helen and Marceen; and countless nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church or The American Cancer Society or A Women’s Shelter of your choice.
A Celebration of Joyce’s life will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11am at the St. John’s Lutheran Church located at 2601 Highland Ave., New Castle, PA 16105.

Joyce, oh my gosh I could write volumes! Loved her dearly, lots of giggles and more. She was so pretty, that great red hair full of curls and the longest legs!! I am crammed into a 5′ 2″ body and she was so tall and elegant! She and I decorated masks for a big “do” the Phoenix Art museum had, we would work on crafts sometimes and she would joke and say we should go sell these on the corner of Scottsdale Rd. and Cave Creek. Love and miss you Joyce, always in our hearts.

    Dear Aunt Joyce:
You were not really a true Aunt of mine, but God and a few others know the reason I refer to you in that regard. I wasn’t granted the opportunity to know you very well in this life, but we have a lot of things in common. I will always remember your contagious smile and the special aura that you had on this earth. Just by being around you for the short time life provided contributed to help form me into the person I have become. GOD needs you more now in heaven than on this earth. You will always have a place in my heart and you will always be remembered until we see each other again.

Joyce or Aunt Joyce as I knew her was a very fun loving lady . She went to Florida with us many years ago when Jaime Joseph and I went to a conference for work . Another peer Kaci was also with us . We went to dinner and Jaime laughed because Aunt Joyce and I showed up to dinner in very similar outfits . We enjoyed her company very much . She had great stories and made us all laugh . She was very close to Jaime and they just had a special connection that lasted a lifetime . She will be missed . It was a pleasure to have known her . Some people just make life better to be around . Joyce was one of those people . I pray that she Rest In Peace . My thoughts and prayers are with Jaime , Cassie and the rest of the family at this very sad time . Deb

Joyce held a very special place in my heart. She was Aunt Joyce but I always called her my Mother in Law. She was a very big and important part of our lives and she will be missed terribly. Always willing to meet up for an adventure or just come to visit for a couple days for no reason. I love you and wish you peace and joy on your biggest adventure yet.

Joyce was a very loving step mother to me. Welcomed me with open arms the first time I met her.
Will always remember our Coney trips and hot bread runs.
You will always be in my heart.

    Joyce is a sister!
There are 7 of us in Arizona
We refer to the famous song .”WE ARE FAMILY”
I met her when she moved to Scottsdale after selling her business because of Asthma.
Joyce was not only beautiful on the outside.
She was highly intelligent, compassionate, caring, giving and full of laughter on the inside!!
She lived life to the fullest.
She was a chef, created some of her clothes, she took me to my first Broadway theater.
She saw The Phantom Of The Opera in NY.Canada,London,&Scottsdale
She was a member of the fashion gallery of the Phoenix Art Museum
She created a Masked ball ,like the ones in Venice Italy,to raise funds for the fashion gallery.
It was a gigantic success and was then copied by many organizations!!
She made great cakes. She brought one to the restaurant for my Bday and they ask her to make them for the restaurant. She loved James Bond movies .Always watched them with Phil and I.
As you said Judy we could write volumes.
    We miss you Joyce!
    In Loving Oneness,
    Phil and Donna
