Rudolph F. Kastelic

Rudolph F. Kastelic Jr., 79, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio was welcomed into heaven January 2022. He was greeted by his parents, Rudolph Kastelic, Sr. and Vera (nee Skalecki), and his siblings Dominic Kastelic, Pat Pierkowski (Jack), and Audrey Kastelic.

As the eldest of six children, he was a natural born leader and protector. He developed a love for nature and the outdoors as a Boy Scout. He later served in the US Army Reserves and was an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio.

Rudy had a tremendous passion for life. He woke up every morning excited to tackle the day. His love for life was evident in the way he lived. Sitting in the backyard, watching the birds, and appreciating nature was a joy to him. He believed every day was a gift and he was grateful for the opportunities that life presented.

Rudy was an entrepreneur and business owner. He loved what he did professionally and was blessed to incorporate some of his greatest interests. He was particularly fond of his work with the Cleveland Indians organization. He revitalized and operated the Cleveland Indians Fantasy Camp, coordinated spring training packages, and established the “Dream Team” cruises which featured current and former players. Rudy also produced shows and promoted doo-wop concerts, which included original acts from the ’50s and ’60s. These opportunities allowed Rudy the chance to live out his childhood dreams while sharing his love for baseball and music with others.

Additional interests of Rudy’s included vintage cars, sports, fishing, golf, cooking, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

Rudy’s smile was infectious. He could brighten any room by simply walking into it. His wonderful sense of humor, and quick wit will be missed but never forgotten. He will be remembered as a husband, a protective big brother, the ultimate girl dad, and a loving Papa.

Those who will continue to cherish his memory are his wife, Elen Kastelic; his daughters, Dianne Shafer (Bryon), Catherine Kastelic, Elizabeth Burgei (Joel); his grandchildren, Haleigh, Leilah, and Reed; his sister, Mary Ann Mitchell (Larry); and brother, Donald Kastelic.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, August 13 at 4:30 p.m. at Frohring Meadows, 16780 Savage Rd, Chagrin Falls Ohio 44022. Kindly bring stories, memories, and love to share.
